Education and Experience
I've been trained at Vidal Sassoon Academy, Carlton Hair Academy, Redken Exchange, and many more. I continue to further my education, striving to learn the best and updated techniques, colors, and trends. I've been working in San Francisco since the 1990's, starting as a young assistant in Bladerunners Hair Studio and eventually becoming an independent stylist, working for a decade at Colorbox Salon at Dolores Park until the closing in May 2018.
You can now find me at the famous Glama-rama salon at 304 Valencia St in San Francisco as well as the Telegraph location in Oakland!
Book online here for either location.
About Me
Since I could talk I have been singing. Music has always been a huge influence in my life. In fact, my parents met at a club where my dad was playing in a band and my mom was a go-go dancer.
I believe music and fashion, including hair, go hand-in-hand. My first hair style icons were people like Cyndi Lauper, Boy George, Duran Duran, Annabella from Bow Wow Wow, Robert Smith, Siouxsie Sioux, The Sex Pistols, and even at a young age people like Cher and Dolly Parton.
My first haircut was on myself at age 14--I copied Cyndi Lauper's cut, and later the color. I continue to be inspired by music with my work, and have cut and styled many musicians as well as regular folks who just want cool hair.
I'm also a DJ!
I've had resident DJ nights at Beauty Bar, Monarch, The Residence and Cherry Bar in San Francisco, and The Hanging Garden events at The Uptown in Oakland.
Currently I have my own monthly event, called Post-Mortem. In the “before times” it was at the Rumpus Room in San Francisco.
More recently, since the bars are closed (due to the pandemic), I’ve been DJing at least twice a week on Twitch.
